On June 7, the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Organization (WSTS) released the latest forecast data on the semiconductor market: in 2022, the global semiconductor market is expected to grow by 16.3%, and continue to grow by 5.1% in 2023. In 2023, the logic chip market is expected to reach $200 billion, accounting for about 30% of the total market size.
Following strong growth of 26.2% in 2021, WSTS expects the global semiconductor market to once again achieve double-digit growth in 2022, which is expected to reach $646 billion, an increase of 16.3%.
Among the mainstream chip product growth in 2022, logic chips are expected to grow by 20.8%, analog chips by 19.2%, and memory chips by 18.7%. Optoelectronics is expected to be roughly flat year over year (+0.3%).
On a subregional basis, all regions of the world are expected to experience varying degrees of growth. The Asia-Pacific region is expected to grow 13.9 per cent. The Americas is expected to grow 22.6 percent, Europe 20.8 percent and Japan 12.6 percent.
